Homowo means “hooting at hunger” — and that’s exactly what you’ll do. Centuries ago the Ga people survived a devastating famine, harvested their way back to abundance, and have thrown a festival every year since to jeer at hunger’s face. This is your all-access pass to that one unforgettable day in Jamestown, Accra — no hotel required. You’re already in Accra. We handle the rest: a Ga guide who actually knows the families and the chiefs, access to the kpokpoi sprinkling (the sacred moment the priests feed the ancestors), the durbar of chiefs in full red-and-gold regalia, the drumming processions, the twins’ celebration, and the street carnival at Bukom. Then you eat kpokpoi and palm-nut soup the way it’s meant to be eaten — shoulder to shoulder with the neighbourhood. About your date — this is the real festival, not a “pick any day” tour.
