Two regions, four stops, one properly long day — savanna wildlife in the morning, rainforest and cocoa country by afternoon. We leave Accra at 6am (early enough to clear the Dodowa road before the market traffic builds) and head to Shai Hills Resource Reserve first, where baboon troops and bushbuck move across the old rock hills the Shai people once used as fortress caves. From Shai Hills we cross into the Akuapim ridge for the rest of the day: the Aburi Botanical Gardens (cooler air, century-old trees, a real break from the heat), a stop at a working cocoa farm to see exactly how Ghana's biggest export gets from tree to bag, and Asenema Waterfalls to finish — a short walk into the forest, and yes, you can swim, so bring a change of clothes. Private air-conditioned vehicle, English-speaking guide, hotel pickup/drop-off, and every entrance fee included — it's a 10-11 hour day since we're genuinely covering two different regions, not padding one. Lunch isn't included; we stop at a local spot en route and you pay as you go (usually GH₵40-80). Good walking shoes recommended.
