Every Akwaaba booking includes travel protection through Sanlam | Allianz — covered from the moment you land in Ghana until you leave.
Come home. Give home. A portion of every booking goes to the Akwaaba Foundation — helping Ghanaian children stand in, and learn from, the history beneath their feet.
One week, and you actually see Ghana — not a hotel pool and a beach club. Accra for the nation's story: Nkrumah, Black Star Square, Jamestown and the roar of Makola. The Central coast for the hardest, most important history — Cape Coast and Elmina castles, and the Kakum canopy walk. And Kumasi for the living Ashanti kingdom: the Asantehene's palace museum and the craft villages where kente, adinkra and woodcarving are still made by hand. Real hotels, a private vehicle, a guide who actually knows the stories, and the option to fly Kumasi–Accra so day six isn't a five-hour drive. Your $100 holds the spot; we plan the rest with you.

For a first trip to Ghana, this gave us exactly what we wanted. We experienced Accra, learned the history along the coast and got to see a completely different side of the country in Ashanti. Transportation and accommodations being handled made it much easier for our group. By the end we were already talking about what regions we wanted to visit next time.

This was our first time in West Africa and we wanted to see more than Accra. Moving between the capital, coast and Ashanti region made the trip feel much more complete. There were some long travel days, but that's expected when you're covering this much of the country. We'd absolutely recommend this itinerary for a first Ghana trip.
