Then inland to Assin Manso and the Slave River — the Ndonkor Nsuo, where the captured took their last bath before the coast — and you stand at the ancestral ground of return. Cape Coast and Elmina follow: through the dungeons and out the door that was named 'of no return', which for you, today, is the Door of Return. The heart of the week is a real Akan naming ceremony — an elder, libation, drumming and kente, and a Ghanaian name given by the day you were born, welcoming you into the family. We close in the Ashanti heartland at Manhyia Palace and the kente looms of Bonwire. Handled with dignity, paced with care. Optional add-ons: a DNA ancestry test, extra guests at your naming ceremony, and a custom kente commission.
